Parties Build Cities is a free public panel and mixer opening Festival week, asking why parties matter and what a city loses when underground culture gets pushed out. The format is interactive, a facilitated conversation rather than something you sit and watch, so come ready to take part. A community mixer with refreshments follows. Especially for organizers, aspiring organizers, and anyone helping activate Vancouver’s cultural life.

Where to enter

The entrance is on Wallace Mews, just below the heritage Shipyards Crane.

SeaBus

From downtown, take the SeaBus to Lonsdale Quay, then walk east along the waterfront, passing under the Shipyards Crane to the Wallace Mews entrance. Allow about 10 minutes.

Bus

The Lonsdale Quay Transit Exchange is less than a five minute walk away, and connects the SeaBus with the R2 RapidBus and the TransLink routes serving Lower Lonsdale.

Drive

Limited paid underground parking at 125 Victory Ship Way, under The Commons, and at the Pinnacle Hotel, all a short walk from the gate. Both underground lots fill up on event nights, so leave yourself time.

Car Share

Evo has a parking zone near the Shipyards. Check the app for current availability and exact locations.

Ride Share

Uber and Lyft cannot pull onto Shipbuilders Square or The Commons. Drop your pin on an adjacent street instead: near The Polygon Gallery, along Victory Ship Way, or on Lonsdale Avenue near Lonsdale Quay.

Taxi

North Shore Taxi has run on the North Shore since 1966 and covers Lower Lonsdale. Call ahead or book online.
